Ryan ALM, Inc. was
founded by Ronald J. Ryan on July 12, 2004.
Ryan ALM is unique
as an Asset Manager being totally focused on Asset/Liability Management (ALM).
We offer a daily turnkey system of three synergistic products
:
1.
Custom Liability
Index (CLI)
Based on each client’s actuarial projected benefit payment
schedule, Ryan ALM creates a CLI that best represents the true client
objective. A series of daily reports covering Structure, Sensitivity and
Performance are sent to each client via a private password protected web site.
2.
Liability Beta
Portfolio
Assets are managed as a Liability Index Fund that neutralizes the
interest rate sensitivity of liabilities. This portfolio uses Government and
AAA Corporate zero-coupon bonds to match and fully fund the liabilities. As a
result, our Liability Beta portfolio is the lowest cost and risk portfolio for
LDI clients.
3.
Portable Alpha
Liability System (PALS)
PALS is a structured asset management portfolio
system designed to erase deficits over a target time horizon. PALS consists of
two distinct and synergistic portfolios: Liability Beta and Liability Alpha.
The Beta portfolio objective is to match and fully fund the target liabilities.
The Alpha portfolio objective is to outgrow liabilities based on a target return
(measured by the CLI) needed to erase the deficit over a target time horizon.
The Alpha portfolio initially is a multi-class equity portfolio with the intent
of creating different asset classes as a series of Alpha portfolios. Asset
growth (returns) above liability growth is ported over to the Beta portfolio.
Through time, the Beta portfolio grows with the goal of fully funding
liabilities over the target time horizon.
